Police campaign for winter home safety

A POLICE campaign to help rural areas like Kington stay safe during the dark winter months is offering free lightbulbs to residents.
Officers from the rural policing team have brought back the Lighten Up home initiative to improve home safety for householders and discourage potential burglars.
Free low-energy bulbs donated by Npower are available from local policing teams.
The fitting of outdoor security lights and timer switches to make sure homes stay illuminated both externally and internally are also being encouraged.
