KINGTON police are warning residents to be on their guard following a number of distraction burglaries in Herefordshire.
Officers want locals to be aware of men who visited homes in Hereford and near Bromyard claiming they were water board officials and offering homeowners a cheque to make up for the inconvenience of entering their homes.
One suspect was described as being white, clean shaven and aged between 30 and 40 with short brown hair and a healthy appearance. He was wearing a creamy fleece and blue jeans.
A silver Volkswagen Golf was also seen in suspicious circumstances.
