Date with royalty for Peterchurch resident

A PETERCHURCH youngster enjoyed a date with royalty after achieving a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Jack Goring was personally invited to St James’ Palace in London to collect his certificate from The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward.
He completed a range of expeditions, volunteering and physical skills over an 18-month period alongside his studies at Christ College in Brecon, where he was a pupil.
Jack is now at university after undertaking various activities including walking the Elan Valley during the wettest week in July and completing a residential project at the Royal Botanical Gardens of Wales.
