I SEE that the editorial in the Hereford Times, (October 16) welcomes Peter Mandelson’s choice of the tiny Herefordshire hamlet of Foy for his lordly title as it “will be good for tourism”.
I think it will do more to highlight the voracious greed of a so-called socialist as he pockets his £1 million (EC payout); £234,000 (EU pay over next three years); £78,000 (EU transition payments); £182,000 (Parliamentary salary); £31,000 (Brussels pensions at 65) and £15,000 (EU resettlement grant to London).
I am sorry to say that he won’t find such a welcome if he visits his former home.

SO Peter Mandelson (sorry Lord Mandelson ) is taking, as part of his title, Baron Mandelson of Foy in the County of Herefordshire. Well lucky old Foy and lucky old Herefordshire.
Mandelson has twice had to leave the government under a cloud so he was shunted off to Europe for a couple of years on a nice little earner with the EU.
Now he has been brought back by our unelected Prime Minster with a fat leaving wad in his back pocket (so we are told), given a title and will become another unelected member of the government helping to shape policies which will affect our everyday lives.
It would seem that whatever you do in this hypocritical and dishonest Labour government you always come up smelling as sweet as the roses in a Herefordshire cottage garden.

IT was interesting to read about Peter Mandelson and his new title as Baron of Foy.
The mis-spelling of ennobled has enabled me to write this letter.
Enough said.
