Dredging the rivers would end misery

12:06pm Friday 31st October 2008

MRS Price (Hereford Times, October 9) is absolutely right. Flooding along the Frome and the Lugg could be greatly alleviated if the rivers were cleaned out as they always used to be.

If the River Frome was dredged, trees and bushes cut back and debris removed, the people living along the banks would not have to battle floods every year.

The cost would be minimal compared to the current devastation of property and misery of the occupants.
