Why change for Hereford isn’t always for the better

3:13pm Thursday 8th January 2009

I ENJOY reading the Hereford Times every week and one letter recently, about modernising the city centre and from D A Rolls, made my day.

A kitchen hero in Hope-under-Dinmore

Christmas dinner with all the trimmings was served up by Neil Harley for his wife Marion and family. 09013-1

3:17pm Thursday 8th January 2009

MY New Year Resolution is never again to joke with family and friends about my husband’s lack of ability in the kitchen. Up to December 27, his achievement ended with a basic fried breakfast and scrambled egg - albeit excellent scrambled egg!

Such a great show - thank you Hereford Times

I AM writing to thank you for so kindly arranging a film show for pensioners on Tuesday, December 16. Your staff went out of their way to make this a special occasion and the mince pies with sherry also provided an excellent touch.

Ian Quayle of Fownhope, Hereford, says orbs could mysteriously disappear if photographers use the right lens.

4:20pm Thursday 4th December 2008

INITIALLY I thought Angela Davis's letter about ‘intelligent orbs’ in the sky was an hilarious spoof. Ball of fire and the sounds R Cooke of Ewyas Harold, heard too

4:17pm Thursday 4th December 2008

I WAS interested to see the letter from Anthea Watson of Fownhope regarding the ‘ball of fire’ seen on the evening of October 20.

Could Orbs really be meteors called Taurids?

Could Orbs really be meteors called Taurids?

4:12pm Thursday 4th December 2008

REGARDING an observation made some weeks ago of an orange light travelling across the sky, may I draw readers’ attention to a group of meteors called the Taurids?

Never forget that the sacrifice still goes on

3:39pm Friday 28th November 2008

ON Tuesday, November 11, it was a great privilege for me to represent the Mayor of Hereford, who was sadly prevented from being there because of an injury, at the War Memorial on the 90th Anniversary of the Armistice.
