AFTER representing Herefordshire in the Three Choirs Festival exhibition in 2006, artist Steve Brooks returns to The Courtyard with a solo exhibition, Field of Vision.
Steve is fascinated by scientists’ vision of our world and its place in the cosmos, creating striking drawings and paintings based on his exploration of the ideas of Ptolemy right through to current thinking.
While looking into the history of ideas about our planet Steve came across a passage in Bill Bryson’s book A Short History of Nearly Everything that gave rise to a whole new series of work.
The third strand relates to Man’s visual impact on the landscape with the crops he grows. Field of Vision opens at The Courtyard on Wednesday, September 27, and runs until Saturday, October 25.
